Read and understand instructions before installation and commissioning.

Device-Specific Safety

• No user-made changes.
• Reset to factory settings before re-using.
• Do not use internal communication interface in hazardous areas.
• Test safety shutdown module every two years.
• Ensure splash guard cap is in place for IP 65 / NEMA 4X.

Pneumatic Safety

• Observe Employers Liability Insurance Association rules.
• Observe actuator safety instructions.
• Do not exceed 6 bar (90 psi) operating pressure.
• Use instrument air exempt from oil, water, and dust (DIN/ISO 8573-1, Class 3).
• Blow out air pipes before connection.

Electrical Safety

• Observe VDE and accident prevention rules.
• Observe electrical system standards.
• Observe electrical specifications in the manual/data sheet.
• For explosion-protected devices, follow specific directives.
• Connect 4...20 mA signal circuits to terminals +11/-12 ONLY.
• Max. current must not exceed 500 mA.
• Do not lay signal lines close to power lines.
• Keep the case closed to avoid electromagnetic interference.
